This is a full time positions with the starting salary of $46,000 or more per year plus a quarterly bonus, and is eligible for excellent benefits including: medical, dental, & life insurance; 401(k); and vacation & sick pay.




Department:  SERVICE DELI

Supervisor:   STORE DIRECTOR

Hours: Full time 48 hours per week, must be available Sunday-Saturday

Position Summary:  This position is responsible for assisting with the overall operation of the Service Deli Department.  Responsibilities include implementation of all company policies, budgets and operating procedures.  You must have good organizational skills, an understanding of our guests' needs, work well with others, promote teamwork and communicate well with team members and guests. 


Develop maximum customer relations through a friendly and courteous behavior.

Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.

Provides a safe, clean and positive environment; and consistently builds and supports a culture that is based on relationships and continuous improvement.

Has knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, programs and directives.  Refers to Team Member Handbook continually to ensure policies and procedures are followed.  Promotes a harassment-free environment, and immediately reports any potential harmful situation to management. 

Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department and store through training and education of self and other team members.

Attends departmental, store and company meetings as required; contributes to profits and revenues and meets productivity standards.

Establishes and monitors team member work schedules within the department.

Instructs and teaches others all fundamentals of the Service Deli Department operation.  This includes guest services, product preparation, packaging, etc.

Maintains proper freshness, pricing, code dating, tare and merchandising of the product in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Helps maintain adequate and appropriate department records at all times.

Oversees receiving, storage, pricing and merchandising of all deli products giving special attention to shortages and overages and making proper reports.

Plans aggressive merchandising programs for increased sales.  Assists with implementation and giving ideas for cross merchandising with other departments.

Maintains an awareness of competitive activity with the store marketing areas.

Helps maintain product and cost control in conjunction with company objectives to maximize department sales and profits and minimize losses.

Provides professional example for other store team members to follow. Maintains effective control of department inventory through proper ordering, by guarding against waste and pilferage and maintaining adequate and appropriate department records.  Maintains adequate supplies for department's needs.

Maintains effective control of product quality by continual monitoring of product appearance and maintaining proper stock rotation.

Responsible for gross profit, merchandising, preparing and displaying product within set guidelines and standards.  Maintains effective control of department sales, wage expenses and inventory within established budgets.  Ensures department contributes to profits and revenues.


Experience:                             Previous deli or restaurant experience and leadership skill s             required.

Minimum Age:                        18 Years of age.

Lifting Requirements:            Ability to lift 30+ pounds

Equipment:                             Cash register, fryer, slicer, wrapper, presser, two- wheeler, box cutter, etc.          

Physical Abilities:                   Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, twist, and bend; repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip and balance; occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel or crawl.  Lifting may include floor to shoulder and overhead lifting.  Occasional use and climbing of step stools or ladders required.        

Communication:                    Ability to write, speak, hear and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.

Education:                              High School diploma or GED; or related job experience and/or training are required.
